Review: Newtons Labs Charcoal Nose Pore Strips

I'll be honest, I've always been intrigued by pore strips and heard mixed reviews on whether you should really use them. But curiosity got the better of me and I went out and bought some. Newtons Labs T-Zone Skincare Charcoal Nose Pore Strips to be exact.

I'd seen these specific ones flying about social media and so thought they'd be the best choice.

I've always had very oily skin around my t-zone and was intrigued to find out if this would help the ones particularly on my nose. And if I could the gunk and open pores clean with these strips.

Charcoal has been a massive growing trend - masks, strips, facials - that my choice had to be charcoal. It's also obviously easier to see the gunk from your pores on the black strips.

I took them out the packaging and had no idea what to expect actually. But it is essentially a black strip to place over your nose and leave for about 5 to 10 minutes. You can feel it hardening and drying on your skin and that means it's cleaning you pores, I'm going to assume?

The packaging - peel off the plastic & onto your nose

The instructions say to wash and exfoliate your skin with the Newtons Lab Facial Wash (I used my own though), pat down and thoroughly wet your nose. Then place the strip on your nose - easy! It comes stuck onto a piece of plastic, you feel it off that and place onto your nose. Leave for 5 to 10 and peel off and see how clogged your pores were.

And I actually did! I saw all these little dots of dirt when I peeled back. And honestly my nose skin did feel a lot smoother. I have used the strips a couple of times now and I do feel a difference. My skin on my nose does feel smoother and I can visibly see less pores. As you can see, from the first time I used them, I have a lot of dirt, impurities clogged into my pores! So every now and then I don't see anything wrong with using these.

I'm sure I read somewhere you shouldn't use pore strips too much - don't hold me to that. But every now and then these are a gem. I'd recommend these to anyone, definitely.

I think I bought these for a bout £1/£1.50 from Savers. So decent.

I'm now intrigued to try a charcoal face wash and see how that works and feels.

Have you used anything Charcoal before? Let me know any recommendations.
