October Favourites

It's been quite a while since I posted a favourites post but I feel like there's a few bits I've really been loving so wanted to share them with you. It's not just all beauty so hopefully there's something for everyone.

There's 2 make-up items I've really been enjoying using this month. They're both new purchases for this month but have passed the month usage trial (something I clearly just made up because I didn't know how else to say it).

The first is the Mii Sublime Skin Illuminator. If you've read my last few posts you'll know I've been looking for that perfect highlighter and after trying powders and crayons, I came across this. Mii wasn't a brand I'd ever heard of until I walked into Blush - a beauty shop in Loughborough town centre (where I live) - and saw the display.

It's not a high street brand and even though I didn't want to spend loads on a highlighter, the sales advisor assured me it was a good brand. So far I've really been loving it. You don't need loads, literally the tiniest pump but you can build it up which is great. For 30ml you get quite a lot considering how much you use. So far it's done the job.

The second beauty item is the L'oreal True Match Concealer Crayon. I decided at the start of the month that I wanted to try a crayon concealer and see what the hype was about. Don't get me wrong I still absolutely love my Collection Lasting Perfection. But I've definitely been liking the True Match Crayon this month.

I find it doesn't give as thick a coverage as the Lasting Perfection but gives a brighter look than it. If that makes any sense. I've also found it a little easier to blend but that's probably because it's not a liquid. However on the whole definitely a brilliant crayon concealer.

This will probably come as no surprise but I have most definitely been loving Perfect by One Direction. It's such a catchy song, how can you not sing along? I love the music video - it's simple and just shows them. With no shame Perfect has been on repeat many times.

I didn't really know how to categorise the rest of these things so have just put other. They're quite a mismatch of bits.

I've really been getting back into baking and have found this collection of recipe books to be great. I got given this as a present once but just never thought to use it. Until a few weeks when I wanted to bake some sweet treats which I did blog about.

The collection isn't just sweet recipes but savoury as well. You get one that's recipes for children, one that's Afternoon Tea recipes, Cakes, Pizzas and Flatbreads etc. It's a great set for anyone who wants to bake.

Another book that I've been enjoying is this Q&A a day journal. I saw this in a Zoella and was pretty to see what it was like. It's a book of questions, one for each day that you answer for 5 years. The point of is to see how your answer change and develop over the years. But it's also just fun. There's so many random questions in there and they've made me laugh. I bought this mid year so haven't filled half of it in for this year. But I can't wait to keep this going. I bought it from Amazon if you want to pick one up.

As the weathers got gloomier I've started to burn more candles from my not so extensive anymore Yankee candle collection. I know this a Christmas candle and you might be thinking 'what' but I seem to have collected them the most from presents. I think I'm going to have to buy some more soon though.

If you follow me on Instagram (karishmar) you'll know I recently bought a new pair of Converse. And oh my gosh am I in love with them. They're so pretty and I love the laces. I wasn't a converse person until I bought my first pair early this year and since then have been keeping a look out for my next pair.

I wanted something different and until I saw these nothing majorly stood out to me. I actually saw these in a shop in London when I was down there over summer but resisted the urge to buy them. But for my 21st I got given an Amazon voucher and there began my search for these converse and only these converse. I never expected to become a converse person but the hunt for my next pair is already on.

My final favourite of October has to be - an online retailer. I browsed through their Sale items a few weeks ago and ended up buying more clothes that I don't need. I love Boohoo though, they're great for everything. Basics, dressed up outfits, shoes, casuals and they're all so reasonably priced. I've always been a Boohoo lover. Definitely check it out if you need some new bits and bobs.

I honestly can't believe it's the end of October already. The years just flown by! But I'd love to know what you've been loving this month. Let me know.
