August Favourites

The end of the month means one thing: Monthly Favourites. I've been loving a mix of things this month and here they are.

Bourjois Paris Nail Varnish
I got this as an early birthday present from a friend and have been loving it! It glides on effortlessly and I love the look of it. It's so shiny, it looks like a gel varnish. It's just so pretty and I'll definitely be investing in more colours.
Maybelline Falsies
I've always been a massive fan of the Maybelline Falsies Mascara however I recently changed from the 'Waterproof' version to the 'Black Drama'. I didn't expect to see a difference but I have; my lashes look longer and fuller.
Fashion Dress
I bought this dress a while a go but have been wearing it quite a bit as it's got colder. I wasn't sure if I'd like the roll neck but I've got used it. It's perfect to wear with tights and boots.
 Meetup Goodie Bag
I only got this bag last week so I hope it still counts as a monthly favourite. It was given to me at a Blogger Meetup and I fell in love with it. It's just so cute. I love the design because I love cupcakes. It's a perfect shopper bag and I can't wait to use it at university.
TK Maxx Bag
If you read my birthday wishlist, you'll know one of my items was a TK Maxx bag. And after a little bit of persuasion my mum bought me one. I've been trying to not use it til my birthday but I couldn't wait.
I fell in love with this bag as soon as I saw it. It's looks like such a posh, expensive bag which is what I always wanted. I love the colour, the style, the tassle details. I just love the bag itself.
I've recently become obsessed with Instagram. It's so easy to just click from picture to picture and I find myself spending so much time on the app. I love just finding out what people have been doing and the different pictures people are taking. It's just easy to spend an hour/half an hour on there without realising. Follow my Instagram by clicking the tab above :)

Music: John Legend - All of Me

I know this song has been out for a while now but I've only recently started to listen to it. I'm the kind of person that will either love a song instantly or once it gets old. It's just been stuck in my head for the past few weeks. So it's earned it's place in my favourites.

There you go. Quite a mix of favourites this month. What have you been loving this month? Let me know.

Pizza Making: #NewarkBloggerMeet

Last Friday I attended my first blogger meet in Newark (in the midlands) hosted by the lovely Frankie from Crazyblondegal. We did something a little different and went pizza making. As it was only my first meet up I was quite nervous but everyone was so lovely and the day just flew by.
Photo from Siobhan
We received a glass of Prosecco with our Pizza. How classy.
Dough balls were first on the menu. I love them but these tasted even better as they'd just been taken out the oven and so were really soft and warm.
Making pizzas is harder than I thought. Mine turned out more oval than round.
We all got pretty stuck into the toppings.
Calzone Challenge
We were then split into two groups and had to create a 'calzone', picking one person to make it. Ok, my team lost (crying) but it was still so much fun. The professional chef made it look so easy but it wasn't.
Our Calzone. It's basically a pizza base folded in half filled with cheese and tomato.
The other teams Calzone. They look like pasties.
My cooked pizza was actually really yummy.

It was such a great day with some great people. It was something different and thanks again to Frankie for organising it. She also gave us a wonderful 'goodie' bag so look out for a post on that. Let me know if you've been to any meetups recently or have got any coming up.

Sleek Blusher: Lace Trio

I recently decided to expand my Sleek collection and going into Superdrug the blushers looked the most appealing.
I love all of the Sleek makeup but there's a little gap in my blusher collection. Wanting some light, shimmery pinkish shades, the Lace trio appealed to me the most.
The first shade is an orange matt shade. It might seem a bit out there at first but it's not too bright so I like it.
The middle a faint pink but with a sparkle. Definitely my favourite of the 3. It's perfect to add a light wash of colour and sparkle to your cheeks.
The last is a coral pink. I'm not a fan of bright pink blusher, it doesn't suit my skin tone so I often go for lighter pink/peacher shades. I prefer the sparkle of blusher rather than the colour sometimes.
I've only swatched the shades lightly but I love the difference of all three.
I love this threesome of shades so I'm hoping they serve me well. Have you ever bought this blusher trio? What did you think?

Birthday Wishlist

It's my birthday in about a week and a half. And as spoilt or big headed or greedy as it sounds I do have a wishlist, but it's split into two categories; a crazy-out-there-i-know-i-won't-get-it-section and a more grounded-maybe-might-get-some-of-these-things-section. Here are some of the things from both of them.
Harry Styles Keyring - If you didn't know I'm a bit of a One Direction Fan so my 1D wishlist does extend beyond this. But recently I've worked out that's the one, simple 1D thing I don't have so want this. I get the feeling, even if I don't get this for my birthday I'll end up buying it myself. Yes, I've found out where to buy it - Amazon.

Let's blog some sh*t Notebook - I saw Youtuber Zoella with the pencil case version of this and didn't up until quite recently realise there was a notebook too. As I seem to be getting more serious about blogging, a notebook will need to be bought eventually so if it's not this one it'll be another. But please let me know where you can get this from if you know.

Custard Cream Cushion - Again something I saw in Zoella's video. Ever since I knew where I was living for my final year of Uni, I've known I wanted to buy a/some cute/comfy/quirky cushions for my room and the lounge. I've looked everywhere but haven't found the right pattern and it's because I've been looking for quirky designs like this. I love this cushion, it's just different and me. I love my tea and biccys. I guess I'll have to settle for a simple cushion.

I love Nutella Crop Top - I instantly fell in love with top when I saw it. Again, it's me in a phrase. It's just a different, quirky top.

Urban Decay Palette - I always have and will want this palette. I bet most beauty bloggers want this palette even if it's just to try it. It promises so many things, looks amazing and has some brilliant reviews. I don't think I'll get this for a few years but it's worth the hope.

TK Maxx Bag - This is also something I always have and will want. I just love the TK Maxx bags. They sell some of the most amazing bags and even though they are a fairly reasonable price I've just never got one. I'll still keep hoping.

Nails Inc - At first you might think why is Nails Inc on there. If you wanted to you could just buy a bottle. But being a student, I don't have the money to spend that much on one bottle of nail varnish. But it's a brand I've always wanted to own. I've always wanted to test the difference between that and a high street brand varnish. Maybe one day I will.

I'm not to sure how many of these items I'll actually get but I enjoyed staring at them and not being able to have them whilst doing this wishlist.
Are there any things on your wishlist?

As you might know if you read my last OOTD post, I had another wedding the weekend gone. Which meant doing OOTD.
I wore a simple white/red/pink sari as it wasn't a family wedding. I got given this as a gift but I know it's from India.
After wearing this sari, I've grown to fall in love with. It's such a light but elegant outfit to wear. I enjoyed spending the day in it.
I kept the jewellery quite simple and went for some simple yet sparkly bangles to complete the outfit.
That was another quick Asian OOTD. My final for a while as don't have anymore weddings to go this summer (yet). But I may still post a few 'normal' OOTD's so look out for them.
Let me know if you've done any OOTD's recently.

I've got another 2 weddings coming up this weekend and today I had to go to a pre-wedding ceremony. So I thought I'd do an OOTD for you all.
I opted for something more simple than the outfits I'd worn to the previous weddings. As this wasn't a family wedding.
Jewellery was quite simple; just some blue earrings (from accessorize) and bangles. And henna on my hand as you can see.
This was an easy and light outfit to wear so enjoyed wearing it. I love the vibrant orange with the blues and the little diamond gems just makes it sparkle a little bit.

That was a quick OOTD of my outfit today. I'll be back with the wedding outfits as well so keep an eye out. Leave me some OOTD's below to have a look at.

The Harry Potter Tag

So I'm back to blogging after a few weeks away and I thought I'd start with something different.... If you don't know already I'm a bit of a Harry Potter Geek. I love the books and films and have even been to the Warner Bros Studio Tour (check out the post here). My next goal is to go to the Wizarding World in America.

Anyway I was searching the internet and came across a few HP tags. So thought why not give them a go myself. I've seen 2 of these, one just a simple tag and another would you rather. So I'm gonna start with the simple one and maybe post the other in a few weeks.

1) Favourite book?
It's gotta be The Prisoner of Azkaban. I'm not sure why, I just enjoyed this one the best. I think it's because there's so much detail in it.

2) Favourite film?
Without a doubt The Half Blood Prince. I've watched this one about a hundred times. It's such a bitter sweet part of the film but I can't help but watch it over and over again. You really begin to feel the different relationships between the characters. It's the one film where I felt a massive roller coaster of emotions as well.
3) Parts of the books/films that made you cry/emotional?
There are two distinct parts that broke me down in the series. Ok maybe not broke me down but they definitely hurt me. When Dumbledore dies and when Dobby dies. No matter how many times I watch those bits over and over, I'll still feel the same emotions. Seeing Harry lose someone who was 'father figure' to him really made me hate Snape, even though I knew he had to do it. And Dobby? Well. It's Dobby, I just love him. I just remember thinking 'he can't die.'  He's too cute and cheeky to die.
4) If you could 'hook up' with any HP character who would it be?
I'd have to say Draco Malfoy. Sorry, I'm crossing over to the dark side but I quite like that side of him. He's not evil just annoyingly mean. And lets face it, Tom Felton who plays him is quite good looking too.
5) Favourite Character?
Dumbledore. To have his power, knowledge, his relationship with Harry.. All of his qualities in fact.

6) What would your Patronus be?
Probably a hare like Luna's. I like cute fluffy things and I'm a bit crazy at times like her.
7) If you could have the Resurrection Stone, Invisibility Cloak or Elder Wand which one would you choose?
Invisibility Cloak. Simple, why wouldn't you want to be invisible?

8) Which house would you be in?
I'd like to think Gryffindor. I mean wouldn't everyone want to be in there. But I'd probably be in one of the others.
9) If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be?
Only one? That's difficult. If I had to pick probably Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. Imagine saying you've met HP :O

10) If you were on the Quidditch Team which position would you play?
I don't think I'd be very good at Quidditch but I'd like to think I'd be an ok Seeker. I'd be a rubbish Keeper as I hate being Goaley in Football and I'm not made to be a Beater.
11) Were you happy with the ending?
Well Harry Potter won so of course I was happy. I wasn't happy that it had finished but I knew it had to one day.

12) What does Harry Potter mean to you?
I know everyone says this but it genuinely was my childhood/teen years. I never expected it to become so big. I remember when the Philosophers Stone came out and my cousin bought it for me on video (yes that's how old HP is). I loved it from then and visiting the studios has made me become even more obsessed with it. It will always be a franchise I love.

There you go, the Harry Potter tag. Done. I hope you enjoyed this little peep into my HP love. Why not give it a go yourself or if you've already done it link it below :) Or if you've done any other tags link them as well. I'll give them a read.
