March Favourites

Monthly Favourites. Something I've seen done by so many Youtubers do that I thought I'd have a go but with pictures.

Before I start, is it just me that's scared by how fast March seems to have gone. I actually found myself looking at the calendar thinking we were still in February. Everything just seems to be flying by too fast. I won't bore you with that today though.

So here we go.

Left to Right:
My first hen night experience - something you have to experience to understand.
Became a cheeky news reader - For my TV module I had to record a news bulletin. Loved it, it was so much fun.
The best dinner I've ever had - At Sapori's (A restaurant in Anstey, Leicesershire) For my cousins 30th. The picture says it all - presented and tasted amazing.
Birthday cake - Need I say more. It had a cute baby pic of him too. Even better.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice cream - The sun came out for a bit and I'd been craving one for ages. Craving Fulfilled.
It's the Super Computer - The Super Computer came to Meadowhall. Some great entertaining people.
I discovered dip dye - It's only chalk though but I loved it.
Feeling a bit blue - I found some colour hair spray which I prefer. Not sure which colour yet though.
A cheeky lunch break - Found the best student friendly cafe in Sheffield - Wellies! Yum is all I have to say.
More nail varnish - The Barry M Aquatic Collection came out. Was definitely not disappointed.
First Sleek make-up - Finally bought my first Sleek make up. Love it.
Handmade bows - I discovered this amazing handmade jewelry and accessories store in the market. New fave alert. (Look out for the post on this)

There you go. My March Favourites, not all beauty related but I thought it'd be something different. I guess there are 2 upcoming things missing from there that are happening this weeekend; another hen night and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE CONCERT! (Yes, I'm going to see him. I don't think it's sunk in but I'll do a cheeky post after it. So look out for it.)

Let me know your March Faves. Til my next post. Happy Shopping x

Forever expanding collection: Sleek and MUA

Yet again, about a week ago, I decided to expand my make-up collection. *Hears the overdraft getting ever closer* Having heard so much about Sleek and Makeup Academy (MUA) they were my next buys.

Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette
I've never been much of an eye shadow person except for on special occasions. As hard as this may be to hear for some people, I've never really owned a proper, name branded eye shadow palette. So finally, I decided to purchase my own

I wanted quite a neutral, starter palette and having heard quite a bit about the Sleek blushers, I thought the palettes must be good too. The Storm one looked perfect. With a mix of neutrals, lights, darks and blues I hope this does me well.

It only cost me £7.99 which is so affordable and why I think I'm going to start loving Sleek. I haven't actually used the palette yet but once do I'll be posting a review post so look out for that.

Makeup Academy Matte Palette
As one just wasn't enough I had to buy a second palette. This time it was a Makeup Academy one, I've heard a bit about this company but not a lot about their palettes. So I decided to try one.

Again, it looks like a great starter palette and although both look quite similar, this one has more neutrals and as the name suggests they're all Matte. So great for day wear. I don't think you can tell the exact colours from these pictures. But the first four colours are different variations of a nude/cream; great to start with. At only £4 I hope the price doesn't reflect the quality. Fingers crossed.

Makeup Academy Velvet Lip Lacquer
If you follow my blog, you'll know how much I love lipstick. Well I've heard so much about lip lacquers and lip pens, I decided to start out with a cheaper brand one.

I bought the pink colour; Funk and honestly I've never read any reviews on this either so I'm going in the deep end and trying without advice. Again, I hope this isn't a bad choice and at £3 it doesn't disappoint. It says on the back it leaves 'a gorgeous matte finish, that is smudge-proof and long-lasting.' I hope so. Only time will tell I suppose.

I'm very much looking forward to trying out my new purchases (as you can probably tell from the pretty deco I created for these pictures). I will of course let you guys know how I get on.

But let me know if you've tried any of these and if I've made a good choice. And if there are any other palettes you'd recommend.

More Barry M - Aquatic Collection

After being disappointed with the Barry M Silk Collection, I was hoping the Aquatic one wouldn't be the same. Fortunately I haven't been let down yet. Yay.

I know you can buy two 'sets'; a pinky one and a bluey/green one. When I went into Boots I couldn't find the collection at all which was funny. So Superdrug was the place. Unfortunately I only found two of 'blue' collection.

The 2 I bought were the Mermaid (glitter one) and Arabian (two tone one). I've put them on and they look great! I love the two tone effect of Arabian and these colours definitely remind me of the sea and a mermaid. They stay on your nails as well. I've had these on for 2/3 days and they haven't chipped yet which is a must-have in a nail varnish. Don't you hate it when you put on nail varnish and it chips within a day? Or you get a dent in it. Well so far these haven't done that.

I decided to layer them on top of each other. But because the Arabian one is quite thick, you could use a clear base coat and put it straight on top of that. I love how it shines in the light and even during the day it looks like a pretty two tone shade. These aren't a pale shade that no one will see, you definitely can see them even during the day.

I've put the Mermaid glitter shade on every other finger because I wanted to create more of an everyday nail. If you're going to party or something you could put it on every nail but I didn't want my nails to sparkle too much. So putting it on every other nail is perfect solution.

Like I said I am missing one from this collection - Pacific - and I can't wait til it comes back into stock in shops. But I'm definitely loving these. They look great, you can make them into either an everyday nail colour or a party one and they without a doubt remind me of aquatics and seas.

If you do want to buy them either pop into a Superdrug store or online
Let me know what you think, if you've tried them. :)

Barry M Silk Collection

I know everyone in the blogging world has been raving about these for ages. So last week I finally decided to go and buy the a few of the Barry M Silk Collection nail polishes.

I went for the Heather, Truffle and Meadow colours. Having heard so much about these I was expecting them to be amazing. But honestly, they just look like pale tones with a bit of a shine to them. It might just be that I was expecting too much from them.

But here's what they look like on my nail...

I've only had them on for a bit so I'll give them time. They have begun to grow on me. They are great when you don't want to wear bright colours. I might be being stupid here but don't see the difference. I don't get what makes them 'silk'. They're nice Spring colours though so I'll give them another try. You never know I might love them in a few months.

Let me know if you've tried them and what you think.
Happy Shopping x

P.s. I want to apologize for the hideous length of my nails, I keep biting them recently and they're a bit un-even. Sorry!

Beyonce - Mrs Carter Show Tour

So I know this isn't beauty or fashion related but considering I shared my Warner Bros Studio Tour day out with you. I thought I'd let you know what I did on Wednesday.....

I went to see Beyonce in Manchester. It was unbelievably amazing and words can't describe how excited I was. I still don't think it's really sunk in that I went to see her.

(I think) Here are a few snaps from the show.

These are only a few from the collection of pictures I took. But like I said she was amazing and definitely someone you should see live if you get the chance!

If you've been on my Twitter/Facebook or Instagram you might be sick of hearing about this but I thought I'd share it with you if you haven't.
