Make-up and Brushes Haul

For a while now I've been looking for a good make-up brush set. Loads of people have suggested the Real Techniques brushes but price has been the issue. I don't mind spending money on something that will last me but I've decided I need to be more money savvy from now on and I can't afford to spend that much on brushes.

I say that but wait til you see how much I spent in this haul...oops.

Ecotools Six Piece Starter Set

I decided to go right back to basics and bought the Ecotools Starter Set. It's perfect because it's exactly that - a basic starter set. With a blusher, concealer, eye shadow, angled eyeliner and lash/brow groomer. They're so soft on the skin and great to use. The best thing is it comes in a cute cosmetic bag/pouch.
From: TK Maxx
Price: £9.99

Ecotools Six Piece Essential Eye Set

I then bought the Ecotools Eye Set as I wanted a good set of eye shadow brushes. Even though I don't use eye shadow that often I still like to have a good set of brushes. These again are so soft which is perfect for the eyes. You get five, all of which are used for different things. The cute bag is back and I love the fact that on each brush it tells you what to use it for. Like I said I'm not a massive eye person and it's great to have that done for me.
From: TK Maxx
Price: £7.99

The Body Shop Lip/Concealer Brush

I've recently started shopping in Body Shop a lot more which is great for my skin, bad for my bank balance. When I bought the Crazy Sexy Crimson, the shop assistant tried it on me and she used a brush. Ever since then I can't put lipstick on without a brush but even when I do put it on with my brush it's never the same as then. So I've wanted to buy that brush and finally thought I'd treat myself. Definitely going to enjoy using that.
From: The Body Shop
Price:£9

The Body Shop Blusher

I then went a little naughty and bought this cheeky blusher in the coral shade. It's not too pink and great for everyday use.
Price: £12

The Body Shop Lipstick

You'd think that would have been enough but I couldn't resist buying another lipstick. When you see this colour it looks quite dark and like the Crazy Sexy Crinson I bought but it's lighter and has more sparkle in it. You could wear it during the day to glam up a plain outfit or at night. I've become a bit of a Body Shop addict and love the stuff in there - it's natural and it lasts! Perfection!
Shade colour: The Right Mauves
Shade No: 235
Price: £10

That's my little but expensive haul of things that I recently bought. Go check out the products because none of them will disappoint.

Gel Liner: Yes or No?

I've been meaning to post this for a while now but just haven't had the time! Which is really bad but I'm finally doing it.

Everyone has their preference on top liners. Whether it's a pencil eyeliner or a liquid liner. But I decided to try something different - gel liners. I'd heard about them before but never had the courage to buy one. Well I have finally have...

I decided to try the Maybelline Lasting Studio Gel Liner and I'm really pleased. It comes with brush as well so don't need to buy one. It's really easy to put on and out of all the methods it's the easiest.

I actually found out about gel liner last year. When my cousins got engaged we hired a makeup and hair artist and she used gel liner. I loved how effortless of a look it gave. Ever since them I've been meaning to buy it, just never got round to it.

I'm thinking it lasts for a while as well as you only need a little bit to make it last. Personally, I think I'm going to save this for special occasions but it can definitely be used as an everyday liner! I got mine from Boots for £7.99. If you like experimenting and trying new things, I'd recommend buying this.

Trying something new
To go with this post I decided to film a gel line tutorial type video. It's the first one I've ever filmed, so I'm sorry if it's bad. But I know understand how hard it is for Youtubers as I did about 10 takes! Enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed that and why not try Gel Liner?

Another lipstick for the collection - The Body Shop; Crazy Sexy Crimson

I've been trying to stop shopping but it's not really working..oops. So I went into The Body Shop last week for a browse and ended up buying another lipstick.

I picked out this colour as soon as I started looking. Even though it's red, it's a browny red which is what I liked. I've got so many bright reds and pinks, I wanted something different.

It's becoming a bit of an everyday colour because it's not as bright as a primary red. The one thing I love and have learnt about Body Shop lipstick is that it stays on! I went into the shop at 11ish in the morning, the sales assistant tried it on me and it lasted me till I took off my makeup at about 5/6 oclock! I'm being honest, try it. I've always found it hard to pick one that stays. My lips have this weird thing that as soon they hit the outdoors my lipstick disappear! Silly right? I think I've found one this time though.

I love this lipstick because it's a very autumnal/winter colour and lets face it it feels like we're still in that season! So it's perfect. These pictures definitely don't it justice.

I'm fast becoming a Body Shop lover and even though it's not the cheapest of brands, the quality of their products is brilliant! I've said it before about other brands and this time I 100%, without a doubt would recommend buying Body Shop makeup. I have a feeling my student loan is going to spent on that now. Oh dear, sorry bank balance. (I'll try to stop I promise)

Here are few details if you are interested in this lipstick...
Shade Name: Crazy Sexy Crimson
Shade No: 125
Price: £10

Pop into The Body Shop and have a look. Til next time happy shopping.

Start as you mean to go on

I'm sorry I haven't blogged for a while but I've been a bit busy since I started Uni again. But I'm back and I've been a little naughty..Oops!

I went to buy some birthday presents the other day and ended up buying a few bits for myself. Here's what I bought...

A few months ago I saw this pinafore in USC but didn't buy it. When I saw that there was a massive sale in there, this time, I just had to go in. I saw this and had to buy it! It was reduced from like £25 to £12! What a bargain. It's so cute for a casual look or a more dressy look. I used to love these when I was younger and had to wear one to school. They were a massive trend last year and I might be a bit 'behind the times' but I still love this.

I'd also had my eye on this crop top for a while and again when I saw it on sale...It was a must have. For a fiver I couldn't go wrong. I'm not a massive fan of crop tops as I hate my stomach but I could always team it up with high wasted jeans/trousers or a skirt. So I bought it.

I then went into Topshop. I'm not a massive Topshop person but decided to have a look in there for a top I'd seen in a Youtube Vlog. Tanya Burr filmed an ootd in one of her vlogs and she had a similar top on to this one. As soon as I saw it I wanted it. I couldn't find the exact one but this is quite similar. I'm not to sure when I'll wear this but I love the sparkles. For £10 it's a bargain especially for Topshop. (It was in the sale though so that's why)

Primark was my next stop. Good old Primarni (as I call it). I went int there to pick up a few basics - Plain black and white t-shirts, a heart patterned t-shirt (I have a thing for hearts lately) and this really cool Coca Cola t-shirt (supposed to be a pj top but can be used as an everyday one). Ever since seeing the Coca Cola truck I seem to be a little obsessed with that too!

I saw this pleather skirt with flowers cut out. Pleather is something that should be warn with care, I hate to say it but you don't want to look to tacky. So I only own 2 items of it but I liked this skirt - it's simple, cute and can be worn with so many different things. To be honest, I didn't really find much in Primark that be made go wow so I just stuck to these few items.

Finally, the worst thing happened to me this week! My trusty brown boots from New Look broke. I couldn't believe it, I loved them so much and was devastated. Although I had worn them to good use. I went into New Look thinking I'd buy the same pair as I'd seen them a few weeks ago but how wrong was I! They were all sold out because of the sale. I bought these ankle boots instead but I'm not quite sure how I feel about them. So I may keep on the hunt for some other ones similar to my old ones.

So there you go. That was my little shopping trip, I'm now going to cry at the fact I have no money left. But I hope you enjoyed it and happy shopping!
