Magnetic Nail Varnish

I've seen so many blog posts about magnetic nail varnish but honestly I've never believed it works. I actually bought the Barry M Magnetic polish in Burgundy a while ago but for some reason the first time I tried it didn't work (might have just been the way I used it). So I kept it in my cupboard and have never used it until today.

I was only clearing my cupboard when I found it and thought 'Ooh lets see if this works!'

I was honestly amazed that it worked. (This might sound sad) but I felt like an amazed kid after being shown a magic trick they can't work out! Ahah. I only tried it on one nail because I wasn't sure but I think I love it now.

I think it looks quite cute on only one finger/thumb. You could even leave it like that and paint the others plain. It'll make you're magnetic nail stand out even more.

I'm honestly converted into a magnetic addict. Thank you Barry M :) Why don't you have a go yourself and let me know how it goes.

Pretty in Pink

I decided to try the Barry M Textured Effect - Kingsland Road. I've been wearing a lot of bright colours lately so felt like a change and decided to tone it down.

I've had this colour for a while but I've just never got round to trying it. I love the effect it creates - a textured one of course. It feels quite rough and bumpy but that's all part of the effect. I couldn't stop touching my nails at first because it's an effect I've never tried before.

It's such a light colour as well that I think anyone can pull it off. It's an alternative to bright, candy, barbie pink but the textured effect gives that bit of edge. You can even try putting a glitter or sequin effect on top of this one to make it stand out even more.

I've also got the Ridley Road textured effect nail varnish which I can't wait to try now. I'll let you know how that goes.

Tip
It's also buy 1 get the 2nd half price at Boots, so hurry and go grab yours.

Inside my makeup bag

I thought I'd take a break from the nail varnish for a bit and give you a look inside my make up bag. These are my essential few items that I always take when I go somewhere.

1. Natural Collection Colour Foundation - To be honest, I've only been wearing foundation properly for the past year or so. I found that the Natural Collection foundation is a great one to start with - it's not heavy so you don't feel it on your skin. And at £1.99, it may seem like the quality could be rubbish but it's not, it's great value! (I've also got the Tinted Moisturizer which great when you can't be bothered to slap on the foundation).

2.  Maybelline Colossal Volume Express - Mascara is an absolute essential for me! I love this one cus it's great to create volume and it's waterproof. Simple as.

3. Rimmel black eye shadow - I use this at top/under-eye liner. Even though I have another topliner, I still keep this in my bag in case I want a softer outliner. Used with an angled brush you can create the perfect top/under-eye liner.

4. Natural Collection Cover up stick - This is great for covering those little blemishes you have. Even when your out and about, it's perfect to keep in your hand bag in case you need to touch up. Again, as it's Natural Collection, it's great as a first. But I've kinda just stick with it.

5. Soap & Glory Supercat Top-liner - I posted about this before and am still loving it. It's great, easy to apply and stays on.

6. Rimmel Eye liner - I've had this eye liner for a while and again eye liner is an essential. I always keep this with me.

7. Avon lipstick - I got given this by my auntie because she didn't want it (so I'm not sure if it's still available to buy). It's a cute pink shade and another item that is essential. I love my lipsticks and lipgloss' and this one is perfect - it's not too bright but bright enough - a barbie pink.

These are the few key items from my make up collection that I take everywhere, I have so much more - a drawer full in fact...

You can never have too much make up. On that note, happy make-up shopping! x

Another day, another nail varnish

Yes, I've been buying more nail varnishes.

As soon I found out Barry M were going to be releasing a new collection, I knew I had to have it! But the wait was killing me, when they finally came out, I ran to the shops to get them.

The Barry M Confetti Effect

I couldn't wait to try them, so put them on when I got home. I bought the Marshmallow effect to start with and will definitely be going back to buy the rest of the collection.

I decided to team it with the Barry M Passion fruit Gelly nail varnish, another collection I'm also in love with. I love these together, they make a cute combo and the passion fruit colour is definitely a summer shade.

You can either put the confetti effect on all of your nails or on one - to create more of an effect. But I would recommend putting on a base colour before so you can see the confetti effect.

They're so cute, I'd definitely recommend buying them. Once you buy one Barry M, you'll love them all... that's whats happened to me. I'm becoming a Barry M addict. They have so many colours and effects, they're worth a try. The gelly and confetti effect are becoming my fave collections.

So give them a try yourself and there's a shade for everyone (that sounds like a jingle or something hehe!) Oh and it's 3 for 2 in Superdrug (limited time offer though so grab it now.)
